Here’s where we come in. Shanty Town Spirit provides all the necessities for a baby to have a good start in the world. Sometimes mothers can’t breastfeed for a variety of reasons, so in this case we provide baby formula. For those who can, we provide essential vitamins to ensure these women are staying healthy for themselves and their child.

Sometimes mothers in these impoverished communities who can't breastfeed instead feed their babies canned condensed milk. This milk is concentrated and high in sugar and does not supply the baby with enough nutrients, that is why we provide proper baby formula.

With the help of our sponsors, we also supply parents with newborn packages full of all the items they need to care for their child such as baby clothes, blanket, basic medicine etc. These extra costs do place strain on these families who sit below the poverty line so they are grateful for any help they can receive to make daily life that little bit easier.
