About Ermine Norodom
Devoted mother of two and wife of Prince Norodom Narithipong, Ermine Norodom has given tirelessly to one poor community in a garbage-filled slum in Phnom Penh. By sponsoring six families in Bueng Trabaek, Ermine has been successful in educating all the children she funds who are excelling academically. They now have a regular supply of dietary staples such as rice, as well as clothes and shoes.

She believes in treating these families to small pleasures such as family outings to amusement parks or ice-creams. If it was not for Ermine’s intervention, these children would be spending their days scavenging through piles of disease-infested rubbish in order to find enough scraps to sell for recycling so as to feed the rest of their family. Ermine’s objective is to continue to help more impoverished families like those she currently sponsors because the need is great.
Her dream is to provide a clean environment through ongoing maintenance such as rubbish collection and improved water and sewerage facilities. Her goal is to sponsor up to fifty families who live in Bueng Trabaek and other surrounding shanty towns. The project aims to give them hope and a future that belongs to them but has been lost due to poverty.
